Genesis 6:9-10 ESV

These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

It’s easy to be a good Christian in the Bible Belt.

It’s easy to be godly, or at least religious in the Western world. The media mocks us, and a few anti-Christian zealots are actively trying to limit our freedoms of speech and religion. Even so, compared to the way Christians have been treated in the past, and compared to the way Christians are being treated in communist and Islamist nations, Western Christians are kind of spoiled.

I sometimes wonder how many American Christians would deny Christ in the face of violent persecution, or even a little jail time. I sometimes even wonder how I would handle some real persecution. I served in the United States Marine Corps, and I like to think I would bravely endure imprisonment, torture, or even death.

Peter was very brave at the moment Jesus was being arrested. He cut off a guy’s ear with his sword! Then, in the courtyard of the High Priest’s house, he denied Jesus three times.

Noah was blameless in the midst of one of the most wicked generations that ever lived.

He must have had balls of solid rock!

If American Christian men had Noah’s balls we would not have to worry about the ACLU, same-sex marriage, Hollywood, or Washington. Instead, most American Christians will be offended that I wrote about balls in a Christian blog. Well, stop whining, grow a pair, and stop the heathen hordes from overrunning our country!

1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
