Genesis 4:25-26 ESV
And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name Seth, for she said, “God has appointed for me another offspring instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.” To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord.
Cain and his descendants departed from the presence of the Lord, but Adam and Eve remained in His presence and had an attitude of thanksgiving.
Cain murdered righteous Abel, but God gave Adam and Eve another son, Seth. Seth had children of his own and had a son named Enosh. At the time Enosh was born, people began to call upon the name of the Lord. The children of Adam (outside the secularist city of Enoch) kept the faith of Abel and sought after God.
Hebrews 11:6 ESV
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Many, many years later, the a direct descendant of Seth, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, would come to save all humanity from their sins (Luke 3:23-38).
